1 - WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN
This Year 1 programme follows the Discover stage of the DBL method, where children learn by noticing, listening, exploring, and making sense of God’s world. You receive a carefully structured 36-week plan, aligned with the UK curriculum and designed to build understanding without pressure. Learning covers phonics (Phase 4–5), English and early writing, maths foundations, science, geography, history, and Bible, all woven together naturally.
At this stage, your child will:

Short teaching moments replace long lessons, so learning fits easily into everyday life.
2 - HOW LEARNING TAKES SHAPE DAY TO DAY
As understanding grows, children gently build skills through language, thinking, and expression. Writing develops naturally from speaking, drawing, and sound-led spelling, never forced before your child is ready. To get started, all you need is the flashcards PDF, a simple workbook, and a library card. That’s it. Discovery and Bible cards introduce rich ideas in full sentences, helping children hear, use, and remember strong language across creation, weather, plants, animals, maps, early history, and maths, without overwhelm or excess resources.
Day to day, your child will:
✓ Speak ideas clearly before writing them
✓ Strengthen thinking through short, meaningful activities
✓ Build confidence step by step, without comparison or rush
Faith isn’t added on later, it shapes how learning makes sense from the very beginning.
